Going more deeply into Primitive Mental States

The seminars will be streamed to participants in remote and regional areas using the Go-To-Meeting video-conferencing system. The seminars will investigate the “Unborn, barely born, un-embodied, un-mentalised aspects of the self … aspects of our patients that have not been able to be touched.” (Van Buren & Alhanti, 1997)

We will also focus on  “the zone” in which the analyst / therapist may locate herself in order to elucidate these states for patients. Some understanding of the work of Bick, Tustin, Mitrani and Ogden would be helpful, but is not essential.

The group will focus on papers by Bleger, Lemma, Ferro and Vermote Seminar Presenters: Dr Timothy Keogh, Ms Pam Shein, Ms Rise Becker and Ms Julie Meadows, who are all members of the Sydney Branch of the Australian Psychoanalytical Society.

Dates: Wednesday evening 4th, 11th,18th and 25th November, 2015

Times: 8.00pm - 9.15pm

Cost: $242.00 (incl. GST)

A full reading list, including details of presenters, chairs and instructions on how to access the Go-To-Meeting system, will be sent on receipt of payment and registration.
